The Commission on Accreditation of Pastoral and Psychotherapy (CAPPT) is a specialized body that accredits post-graduate training in Clinical Pastoral Education/Training (CPE/T) and Pastoral Psychotherapy training programs in the United States as well as internationally.

Bryan Bass Riley, MDiv, MS, LPC, NCC

Bryan Bass­-Riley is the Training Director at Pittsburgh Pastoral Institute in Pittsburgh, PA. In this role, he oversees training and supervision of graduate psychotherapy interns and postgraduate fellows and also supervises the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program. In addition to these responsibilities, he carries a clinical caseload of psychotherapy clients. Bryan’s professional experience has included work in a variety of settings including parish ministry, chaplaincy in healthcare and hospice settings, and crisis mental health counseling. 

Bryan has masters degrees in divinity (Princeton Theological Seminary) and counseling (Neumann University). He is licensed as a professional counselor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and is a National Certified Counselor with the National Board for Certified Counselors. Bryan also holds certification as a Diplomate CPE Supervisor in CPSP. Bryan is ordained by the Progressive Christian Alliance.
